Columbus Communications Grenada Ltd made its entry to the Grenada market in April 2008 following the acquisition of the assets of the previous cable service provider, Grenada Cablevision Ltd.

Operating under the Brand "Flow", Columbus Communications Grenada intends to revolutionize Grenada's telecommunications experience through the introduction of a robust triple play service offering High Definition Digital subscription video service, the deployment of an advanced broadband network, and a competitive fixed line telephone service to both business and residential customers.

The introduction of Flow in Grenada expands the investment reach of the Columbus Group of Companies, a Caricom-based International Business corporation, which operates subsidiaries in Trinidad (Flow Trinidad), Jamaica (Flow Jamaica), and the Bahamas (Cable Bahamas). In addition to Columbus Communications holdings in retail broadband telecommunication providers, Columbus operates wholesale broadband networks throughout the greater Caribbean and Central American region.
 
Customers in Grenada can look forward to the upgrade of the cable TV service to a new digital platform, where they will benefit from enhanced video and audio performance, access to hundreds of video and audio channels, the ability to customize entertainment packages and the convenience of numerous Pay Per View channels. Following the launch of its Broadband Internet service, Flow has also introduced a very competitive fixed line telephone service in Grenada.

Management Team

Kurleigh Prescod
General Manager
 
Prior to his appointment as General Manager at Flow in Grenada, Kurleigh Prescod has held various senior management positions for both public and private sector organizations in the telecommunications sector in Trinidad and Tobago over the past several years in various disciplines including engineering, regulatory affairs, sales, carrier services and business development. Kurleigh has also served as a postgraduate Course Director at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
 
Kurleigh is a graduate of the UWI with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Kurleigh also holds a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland, USA.


Gail Purcell
Head of Sales & Marketing

Mrs. Gail Purcell holds a BA, BSW from the University Windsor, Ontario Canada. Mrs. Purcell has worked in the Cable industry for the past 7 years. Mrs. Purcell presently oversees the operations of Sales, Marketing, Communication and The Community Channel with Columbus Communications Grenada.


Brent McIntosh
Head of Information & Network Systems

Mr. Brent McIntosh has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 10 years. Mr. McIntosh presently oversees the operations of the Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications systems and infrastructure with Columbus Communications Grenada.

Brent currently holds CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCIP, CCSP ,CCDP and Cisco certifications in addition to other professional certifications from other vendors like Nortel, Alcatel and Juniper who are the major players in the Enterprise and carrier Telecommunications market.


Yvonne Duncan
Head of Administration & Human Resources
 
Mrs. Yvonne Duncan has over eighteen years working experience in the field of Personnel Management at her former workplace, LIAT (1974) Ltd., and has been responsible for the Administration and Human Resources of Grenada Cablevision Ltd. for eight years.
 
Mrs. Duncan continues to hold the position of Head of Administration and Human Resources in the new operations of Columbus Communications (Grenada) Limited.


Edmund Burke
Head of Engineering

Edmund has 11 years experience in the cable broadband industry. During this period he has held several positions within the company including Technologist, Supervisor of the Planning Department & HeadEnd/Satellite.  Since 2000 Edmund has held the post of Manager of Engineering.

Edmund's responsibilities include IT, Future planning, designing, implementing and managing of the HFC network, in House Training, and engineering and technical support for the Local Community Channel 6.

Edmund has accomplished much over the years including redesigning and upgrading the cable network from 450MHz to 550MHz and 50% completion of the 870 MHz Upgrade. Edmund lead a team of 40 employees to successfully deploy the company’s first independent fiber optic network. Edmund led and managed his engineering team to a successful plant reconstruction following hurricane IVAN within 18 month period. He has also been involved in major satellite and land and submarine fiber projects during this period.  Edmund worked with a small team along with the Chinese in delivering CCTV, CATV and VIDIO Score Board at the National Stadium for Cricket World Cup.

Edmund played a leading role in providing the engineering and technical documentation for GCL now Flow to obtain its internet/Data and Voice Licences.

Edmund has an AAS – Major Electronic Engineering from Barbados Community Collage, Certificates from ITU- Digital TV and the Market Place, GI/ Motorola – Cable System Design, Motorola- Optical Fiber Systems and NCTI- Voice and DATA Networks and Principles of Management. He is currently obtaining a BS in Technical Management – Major Network and Communication Management at DeVry University.


Osmond Drakes (FCCA)
Financial Comptroller

Mr. Osmond Drakes has over nine years post-qualification experience, spanning both private and public sector companies, in Accounting, Finance, Budgeting and Strategic Planning involving Government, Central Banking, Off-Shore banking, and Multi-Lateral and Non-Profit organizations. Mr Drakes is a result-oriented and decisive leader with proven success in the design and implementation of financial management and reporting procedures for new organizations. Osmond has a track record of operating within budgets, while spearheading operational improvements to drive productivity and reduce costs.
