Advantages of Digital Cable TV

Digital cable television permits the ability to clean video sugnal interference, once not too severe, which results in superior quality of picture and sound which ultimately results into superior quality viewing.

Digital cable television also presents the viewer with a user friendly electronic on-screen programming guide, where the user can view the listings while continuing to watch a given channel before switching, rather than having to flip through random channels to find out what's on.

Digital cable television permits the transmission of more audio and video channels on the cable network, increasing the number of channels customers can view and order, increasing viewer satisfaction. Flow will increase the number of channels it broadcasts to over 100.

Digital cable subscribers have access to advanced television services such as High-Definition Television (HDTV) which provides viewers with even higher quality video and audio for channels transmitted in HD, particularly for those viewers with large-screen televisions and surround sound systems. HD represents the next generation of television viewing, and digital cable supports the efficient delivery of HD channels to customers with HD-capable television sets. Flow will make HD channels available to its digital cable customers as they become available.

Another advanced service will be the offering of Digital Video Recorder (DVR) or Personal Video Recorder (PVR) capabilities for customers, which will allow customers to pause, rewind and record selected content. This way, customers can replay portions of video they would like to see again, not miss portions of their programming when interruptions such as a phone call or emergency arise, or record programs on selected channels when they are not at home, or even when another member of the household is watching programming on other channels at the same time the customer's desired programming is being broadcast.

With bi-directional digital cable television networks such as Flow's, other advanced services such as Pay Per View (PPV) ordered by remote control can be supported. This allows customers to view additional channels on demand, without having to subscribe on a monthly basis, or order premium content such as events when available. This is enabled because the customer is able to send requests from their set top box to the cable operator's Head-End and billing system, to activate additional services without the intervention of a customer service representative; this replaces a phone call to customer service to activate the PPV channel.

Flow will also offer digital cable customers the ability to customize their theme packs, by selecting up to five (5) channels from their various optional theme packs in order to comprise their own personalized theme pack of additional channels.
