Revision of Basic Cable Rate
May 31, 2009
Dear Valued Customer,
On behalf of Columbus Communications Grenada Ltd., herein referred to as Flow, I would like to take this opportunity to advise you that effective July 1, 2009, Flow will be introducing a monthly rate for basic cable television services of $49.99, inclusive of GCT. Since the introduction of cable service to Grenada the charge for Basic Cable service has remained unchanged at $45.00 per month. During this 16 year period the Basic Cable Package has increased from 12 to 32 channels, with the most recent introduction of 3 additional channels to the Basic Channel line up in January 2009. Furthermore, Flow has made significant investments to enhance the quality of the channels in its line-up, as evidenced by the vast improvement in the viewing experience of a number of our channels, such as Gayelle (Channel 7).
This first rate adjustment in 16 years has become necessary due to the significant increases in programming costs associated in delivering our service to our customers, caused by the increased demands of the providers of programming we enjoy as Flow legitimizes its programming content. Despite these constantly increasing operational expenses, Flow’s rates in Grenada remains without doubt the most affordable rate for cable television throughout the region. Furthermore, though the resulting increase in costs to Flow are calculated to be in the vicinity of $20 per customer, Flow's revised rate results in a change in the monthly price of less than EC$5 per customer.
Flow is committed to providing an excellent mix of broad programming content and services to customers. Within only 6 months of entering the market in Grenada, Flow delivered on its promise of greater choice and expanded services with the introduction of our Broadband service, which has delivered a vastly superior Internet experience compared to that previously available to the people of Grenada with an offer of speeds of up to 12 Mbps. As we continue the Digital Upgrade of our plant, we are preparing for the introduction of our Voice and Digital Television Service to Grenada, officially delivering a robust Triple Play service to our consumers.
I take this opportunity to reinforce Flow’s commitment to providing an excellent mix of broad programming content and services to customers and sincerely thank you, our valued customer, for your continued support and patronage.
Regards,
Gail Purcell
