What Is Digital Cable TV?

Digital Cable television is an advanced platform for the delivery of cable telivision services. Digital cable television networks are typically (but not always) bi-directional, meaning that video content and information is not only sent from the cable operator's Hend-end to customers set top boxes for viewing of channels, but data can also be sent from the set top box to the cable operator's Head-end, such as requests for ordeing additional channels and content via remote-control. Digital cable telivision networks are also able to accommodate more (Standard Definition) channels for dissemination to customers, and value-added services such as High-Definition Telivision (HDTV) channels, Pay Per View (PPV) ordered by remote-control (for which bi-directional operation is necessary), and Video on Demand services (again, for which bi-directional operational is necessary).

Digital cable television networks use digital modulation to transmit video signals to customers' homes, which allows the set top box receiving the signal to process and restore the received signal to its original transmitted quality - slight degradation of quality of the video signal due to transmission along the cable network can be corrected by the digital receiver (set top box), which is not possible using analog cable tansmission.

Flow's Digital Cable television will be dilivered over a bi-directional network, and will offer customers a number of advantages associated with digital cable television delivery.
